Assistive Technology Assessment and Education Program

SILO’s Assistive Technology Assessment and Education program utilizes SILO’s technology lab to support the specific request by individuals with disabilities, caregivers, or community-based organizations. Devices may be an item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially, off-the-shelf, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities. This provides the opportunity for the individual to demonstrate their degree of proficiency specific to their needs. These services will directly help an individual with a disability to acquire or use an assistive/rehabilitation technology device.

SILO’s Assistive Technology and Education Program teaches clients who are visually or hearing impaired, physically challenged, have a cognitive deficiency, mental health related challenges, the elderly and those who work with them, to use assistive technology in schools, businesses, homes, and everyday purposes.
